Cucumber is one of New Zealand’s leading online and project services company. They’ve been in business since 2001, providing clients from Invercargill to Auckland with innovative online services including websites, mobile and social media solutions. 

Trustpower has connected Cucumber to Ultra Fast Boadband over Fibre since late 2012, we’ve also provided their electricity since 2009. 

“The issue we had previously with our internet was the speed,” says Co-owner and Business Development Director, Jodie Tipping. “A lot of our projects are in the Cloud so we are continually downloading and uploading heavy files. The speed we have now has definitely improved our business efficiency. Something that used to take ten minutes, now takes under a minute.”

Getting started with the new Ultra Fast Broadband service was straightforward. “We gave them the requirements and they came back with recommendations. They understood our situation,” Jodie says. “We needed a new line and they came in and managed the whole process, from start to finish.” 

“Because we were switching from another provider, there was a delay so, they gave us a rent holiday to manage the transition. Little things like this made the move a very easy decision.” 

While it is new technology, the connection has proved stable and “things are ticking over as they should”. The same goes with electricity, where Jodie comments, “Trustpower have always been friendly and there have been no problems.” 

Cucumber’s experience has reinforced that dealing with one provider is an attractive solution. “The next step for us is to move our phone services over too,” Jodie says.
