Dr Bruce Harker (Chairman)
Bruce is a highly qualified engineer holding a PhD in electrical engineering as well as a Bachelor of Engineering (honours). Bruce is an executive of HRL Morrison & Co Limited and has very significant involvement with both the New Zealand and Australian electricity industries. His previous roles have included Commercial Development Manager with ECNZ, consulting work with Ernst & Young’s Energy Division, Chairman of Australian generator Southern Hydro and he has worked with the Queensland Government and BHP Power on a number of Australian energy projects. As well as being Chairman of TrustPower Bruce is currently a director of Australian companies Energy Developments Limited and Victoria Electricity Pty Limited. Bruce, who is a member of the audit committee, joined the Board in 2000.

Richard Aitken
Richard is currently Executive Chairman of the Beca Group and has been with Becas for over 40 years. Richard holds an Engineering Honours degree and a Masters of Engineering Science degree from Sydney University. Richard has extensive engineering project management experience in major power and water infrastructure projects. He also has a lot of experience in contractual matters pertaining to these major projects. Richard is an Independent Director.

Michael Cooney
Michael is Chairman and a Trustee of the Tauranga Energy Consumers Trust. He is a Property and Business Law Partner in the Tauranga law firm, Cooney Lees & Morgan. With a big family, a busy law practice, and being Coroner for the Tauranga District, his very active involvement in the community also includes Past Chairman St Mary's School Board of Trustees, Trustee Life Education Trust, and Trustee Western Bay of Plenty Disadvantaged Persons Trust. Michael joined the Board in 2002.

Geoff Swier
Geoff holds a Masters of Commerce Degree and is a director of the Melbourne based consulting firm, Farrier Swier. He has over 20 years experience in micro economic reform in Australia and New Zealand focusing on the establishment of competitive energy markets and privatisation as well as the development of water industries in Australia and Asia. Previously Geoff was a member of the Australian Energy Regulator. Geoff is Chairman of the Audit Committee and is considered by the Board to be an Independent Director. Geoff joined the Board in 2007.

Sam Knowles
Sam holds a Masters of Science Degree (honours). Sam has considerable experience in the banking industry. He has been a senior manager for trading banks in New Zealand and Australia, specialising in areas including strategic planning, retail services, marketing and business development. Sam is currently the Chief Executive of Kiwibank. Sam joined the Board in 2007 and is considered by the Board to be an Independent Director.

Marko Bogoievski
As of February 2009 Marko has been appointed as an Alternate Director while Lloyd Morrison undertakes his medical leave of abscence. Marko is currently the Chief Executive Officer of Morrison & Co and Infratil Limited. Marko joined Infratil from Telecom, where he was Chief Financial Officer, responsible for corporate finance, M&A and group strategy. Marko is a Director of Infratil, Infratil Energy Australia Limited and NZ Bus Limited.

Lloyd Morrison
Lloyd holds an LLB honours degree. He is the Executive Chairman of HRL Morrison & Co Limited, a Wellington based investment banking and management consulting firm which he founded in 1988. Morrison & Co has been the manager of Infratil since 1994. Lloyd is also a Director of Infratil, Auckland International Airport, and other Infratil related investments. Lloyd joined the Board in 2002. As of January 2009 Lloyd has stepped down from his role for a period of medical leave. He has been replaced on an interim basis by Marko Bogoievski.
