Q: Why do fixed charges vary from district to district?
A: There are many different network companies throughout New Zealand. Each of these companies has their own pricing structure. Therefore, their variable and fixed charges are different in each area. TrustPower's unit prices are influenced by the network owner in the area we supply.
Q: How do I read my meter?
A: Your electricity meter is easy to read, click here to view our Meter Reading Guide.
Q: How often will my meters be read?
A: TrustPower usually reads your meter bi-monthly and we assess your account in between.
Q: What do we base our assessed accounts on?
A: TrustPower base assessment accounts on the amount of power used during the same period the previous year.
Q: What do I do if my account is over-assessed or under-assessed?
A: Please take your own reading (click here to learn how), and provide this to us so we can adjust your account accordingly.
Q: How do I switch to TrustPower?
A: Simply click here and follow the instructions to join TrustPower.
Q: What should I do about my power account if I'm going away on holiday?
A: If you plan on being away from your property for an extended period of time up to 2 months (60 days), we can hold your account for you. This means the power will remain on but we won't send your next bill until you contact us to say you're back. Your account balance will need to be up to date before you leave.
Q: Does TrustPower have a low use option?
A: Yes we do. Please send us an email including your energy number and we will check to see if you are eligible for this option.
