The first phase of the Kaiwera Downs wind farm is now complete. To thank local people for your patience while the first part of the wind farm was constructed we’re offering a mini-fund of $10,000 to local groups and projects. Mercury is actively considering its next renewable projects, including stage two of Kaiwera Downs. Once the full wind farm is operating and if this takes place, we’ll have a larger pot to use to support your groups and projects.
KEY INFORMATION
The Fund is looked after and administered by the Mercury Kaiwera Downs Community Fund committee, made up of community members who have a good understanding of the local area and where additional support (from the Fund) might make a real difference.
Applications from our neighbours in the Tuturau, Waikana, Kaiwera District, Ferndale areas will be considered first by the Committee.
